What did Blizzard say?
Blizzard says he”Moving towards simpler classes”The team’s words are that the complexity of the classes seen in the beta reveals Blizzard’s intentions. This means the final game will be around the same level as what you see in the beta.
Blizzard loves the pace and dynamic of combat in the original WoW, and any changes to classes or raid content will need to serve that experience. The team also wants to add something new to the vanilla experience.

Why was the change needed?
Blizzard acknowledged two issues with some of Classic’s classes and specs. First, their power fluctuated dramatically. Second, their gameplay sometimes felt too dull. That’s why some classes are being given a little more depth, but in a way that doesn’t change their identity.
More preparation, easier execution
In an interview with Inven Global, Executive Producer Holly Longdale and Associate Production Director Clay Stone explained the game’s philosophy at PAX Australia. The gist is that if players spend enough time preparing, the button-mashing in actual combat shouldn’t be as complex as it is in modern WoW. The team wants Forever’s combat to be different from modern WoW.deliberately differentShe feels it, and she wants to maintain this difference.

- Priests:All Priests now gain Fear Ward and Devouring Plague at level 20. There are also new and returning racial spells, including the new Gnome Priest abilities.
- Warriors:Their Rage mechanic has been slightly tweaked. According to Blizzard, a bug related to Rage generation in the beta is currently being fixed.
Blizzard says these changes are focused on increasing useful options and not taking away from the classes’ identities.
What else is happening in the beta?
Some other things related to the beta and launch:
- Dual SpecializationAlready present in the game.
- The first respec of each hour is currently cheaper in the beta, but this will change at the official launch.
- The level cap in the beta has reached 30, and the October 1 update also brought a new dungeon, “Excavation Site.”
- Blizzard added classes to the beta.many changesThe plan is stated.
- According to Inven, Dungeon XP tuning has been one of the beta’s controversial changes.
Digital Citizen reports that Forever’s design is based on four principles: protecting the social experience, keeping the game familiar and simple, making the world the center of the experience, and valuing the journey over the destination.

When is the launch?
World of Warcraft: Forever will launch on November 4, 2026.This means the remaining weeks of the beta are Blizzard’s last chance to test and improve the classes.
This is good news for players who miss the slow, deliberate combat of old WoW. Blizzard appears to be taking a middle path. It doesn’t want to overcomplicate the classes as much as retail, nor does it want to retain the shortcomings of Classic. The real test will come when millions of players try out these classes after launch. Which class do you like best? Let us know in the comments.
