Bandai Namco Gundam Rogue OrbitIt’s been in the news constantly over the past few months. Sometimes it’s hands-on previews, sometimes its new model kits. Let’s take a look at everything we’ve learned about the game so far.
Release Date and Platforms
game March 4, 2027It will be coming to Steam on February 15. It was announced in June, and a release date trailer confirmed it in September. It features Gundam mobile suits fighting giant monsters.

How is the gameplay?
PC Gamer’s Wes Fenlon played a preview of the game for about 30 minutes. He found combat leaning more towards an action RPG than Devil May Cry. Combos involve repeated button presses, while most of the damage comes from active skills, which have their own cooldowns. Damage numbers are displayed by default.
Two weapons stood out in the demo.Whip-Sword, which can be rotated 360 degrees to attack multiple nearby enemies.Sword Lance, in which performing a heavy lunge attack during a dodge fills a special meter, which can be spent to summon a “beam phalanx” of laser-firing projectiles. Wes found this experience to be a softer, more accessible version of Armored Core 6.
Customization: The biggest question
The game will feature mecha customization, as hinted at on the Steam page and release date trailer. However, the preview didn’t show a customization screen, and that’s what Wes complained about the most. According to him, the real fun of any good mech game is creating your build before a mission.

New Mobile Suit: Bau Bahlam
Another popular mobile suit from the game Bau Bahlam is, whose HG 1/144The model kit was recently announced by Bandai. It features a chainsaw-mounted macuahuitl sword and spiked knuckle plates. The kit’s release date is not yet confirmed, but it is expected to arrive in 2027.
Story and atmosphere
The preview mentioned enemies called “The Apocalypse,” and an anime-style voiceover played. According to Wes, they may not focus much on the story. This game appears to be taking a different route from Gundam’s traditional, war-themed stories, and this is where some longtime fans’ concerns stem from.
