Resident Evil is celebrating 30 years of its release. Meanwhile, the series’ executive producerJun Takeuchi has discussed Capcom’s future plans. He explained what the company will do when it runs out of older games to remake.

The series is running on two tracks
According to Takeuchi, Resident Evil is currently moving in two directions. The numbered games advance the story, while the remake series takes players back to a time period. He says that one day the remake line will catch up with the numbered games. Capcom is preparing for that day.
This preparation is nothing new. Takeuchi says it began Resident Evil Village The return of names like Umbrella and Spencer and Requiem Raccoon City’s return in 2009 is all part of setting the stage for the upcoming “crossover.”Resident Evil 7 was initially intended as fan service, but fans liked it so much that the team decided to expand on it.

Which games are next?
If Capcom is planning to dispose of all the old games, the list could look something like this:
- Resident Evil 0: A chance to see Billy Coen again.
- Resident Evil (the first game): which will be a remake of a remake
- Resident Evil: Revelations
- Resident Evil: Revelations 2
- Resident Evil 5 और Resident Evil 6
The Real Screw Up: RE5 and RE6
The biggest questions surround these two. PC Gamer writer Eli Gold believes that both games can be improved, but it requires a lot of hard work and significant changes. He fears that if the work isn’t done properly, the series will once again stumble over these two games. If Capcom chose to bring them back to the forefront rather than quietly forget them, the pressure will be immense.

Will the series stop even after 12 years?
The calculation is simple. Capcom releases a remake every two years, so it would take about 12 years to finish the entire list above. But the company seems to be aiming to keep the series going forever. Then either Resident Evil 7 will either have a remake, which will be nearly 20 years old by then, or Capcom will have some other big plans.
Our opinion
It’s nice to relive old memories, no doubt. But the real excitement lies in new stories. Requiem has largely freed the series from the shackles of Umbrella, and now fans want new characters, new twists, and new stories. Remakes are a strong source of revenue for Capcom, but the world of Resident Evil is too vast to be reduced to simply rehashing old games.
So what do you think ,Remakes of Resident Evil 5 and 6 Should it continue, or should Capcom focus on new stories? Let us know in the comments.
